Why are Duffel bags called Duffel bags?

I'm going on vacation and I'm bringing my duffel bag and I was wondering why are duffel bags called duffel bags?

I know why now because Duffel refers to a town in Belguim, the duffel cloth was made to be used for military but now very popular!!!!!

Summer reading

Its time to READ so starting tommorw June 15, 2011we are having a summer reading club. The way you sign up is you put your name on post a comment then I will write you on my list.
